Bang!: The Card Game Rules and Etc.
Objectives
Well, simply put it: your objective is to win!
- For the Outlaws (baddies) to win: the Sheriff must be keeled
- For the Sheriff/Deputies (goodies) to win: the Outlaws must be keeled
- For the Renegade to win: he must be the last person standing (which means he needs to ensure that the Sheriff doesn't get killed until the very end)
That's it! Outlaws, Sheriff, Deputies, and Renegade are roles--they are selected at random for you. So how many of which are there in a game?
- When you gots 4 players: Sheriff, Outlaw, Outlaw, Renegade
- When you gots 5 players: Sheriff, Outlaw, Outlaw, Renegade, Deputy
- When you gots 6 players: Sheriff, Outlaw, Outlaw, Outlaw, Renegade, Deputy
- When you gots 7 players: Sheriff, Outlaw, Outlaw, Outlaw, Renegade, Deputy, Deputy
Your Turn
- ONE: draw 2 cards
- TWO: play as many cards as you want
- The only except to this is the Bang! card. You can only play one Bang! per turn.
- THREE: discard, you can only have as many cards as you have lives at the end of a turn
Your Cards
Basic Overview
- Role Cards: sheriff, outlaw, deputy or renegade
- Character Cards: Each player gets one, and these give the players "powers." Each character also has a certain number of max lives the person can have. Oh, and the sheriff gets an extra life point. :)
- Playing Cards: (see below) There are 2 type, brown ones and blue ones. Brown cards you play by discarding, and Blue cards you play by setting it in front of you on the table
Playing Cards!
- Bang! - You hit somebody, they lose a life unless they discard a Mancato. Now, you can ONLY hit people next to you (one distance away) unless you have special powers or special gun cards. Also, you can only bang once per turn unless you have a special power.
- Mancato!/Missed! - If you get banged, you can discard one of these and not lose a life.
- Birra/Beer - Discard and gain a life. This is the only card you can play out of turn--if you have 0 lives left, you can discard a beer, or as I call, the Death Beer.
- Saloon - Everybody gains a life!
- Wells Fargo - Draw 3 cards
- Diligenza/Stagecoach - Draw 2 cards
- Emporio/General Store - Pick as many cards as there are players, and each person picks a card
- Panico!/Panic - Take a card from somebody who's 1 distance away from you
- Cat Balou - Make somebody discard a car
- Indiani!/Indians! - Everybody discards a Bang or lose a life
- Gatling - Everybody gets banged
- Duello/Duel - The person you duel discards a bang, then you until somebody fails to do so and lose a life
- Barile/Barrel - When you are banged, you draw and on a heart you don't lose a life
- Dinamite/Dynamite - The person you Dynamite draws before his/her turn, on a spades 2-9, he/his loses 3 lives. If it doesn't explode, then the card gets passed onto the next person
- Prigione - Before the turn, the person draws, unless you draw a heart, you skip your turn
- Mustang - The distance between other players and one who has a Mustang card in play is increased by 1. However, he still sees the other players at the normal distance.
- Appaloosa - A player who has a prized Appaloosa in play sees all the other players at a distance decreased by 1. However, other players still see him at the normal distance.
- Volcanic - You can play as many bangs/turn as you want
- Schofield - Increases your bang distance to 2
- Remington - Ditto, to 3
- Rev. Carabine - to 4
- Winchester - 5
Bang: The Online Version Instructions
The online version is pretty easy to understand. With all the cards and rules of Bang, it gets confusing who sees what distance and who has what power and all that. SO... the computer will remember the rules for you--so you can focus on strategy and the fun stuff.
Now, there are three screens:
- The table screen: this shows you, well, the table
- The Bang Feed: the screen on the right, shows what's going on in the game, PLUS chat stuff
- The Control Screen: on the bottom, and this is where you can chose which cards to play, chat, etc.
